Kim Mark-Goldsworthy - B.Ph.Ed., R.M.T., S.M.T.(C)
Kim Mark-Goldsworthy is a Registered Massage Therapist licensed to practice in British Columbia. She has been in continuous practice in Victoria since 1995.As a part of the Canadian Medical Team Kim was selected to attend the Pan Am Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the IAAF World Junior Championships (Track and Field) in Bydgoszcz, Poland, 2008, the Summer Olympics in London, England, 2012 and the FISU Summer Universiade in Kazan Russia, 2013.
Kim currently works with Rugby Canada’s Women’s National Sevens team and with the Victoria Royals of the WHL (ice hockey). She also works with many professional and national team athletes including hockey (NHL, AHL, & ECHL), football (CFL), rowing (national), and triathlon (national). Other athletes in Kim’s care participate in softball, baseball, marathon, volleyball, cycling, field hockey, soccer, swimming and curling.
Kim is the Immediate Past-President of the CSMTA and has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2002. She was also a Board Member of SportMed BC from 2003-2008.
Kim works hard to balance being a mother of two, a busy practice, continuing education, and professional committee involvement. Throughout her life, her active participation in a broad array of sports including volleyball, badminton, athletics, ringette and rowing have given her the understanding of the demands and pressures of competitive sports. In her spare time, Kim currently enjoys mountain biking, hiking and ice hockey.
Candace Emerson - MScPt, BKin
Candace graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in kinesiology in 2007. She then completed her Master of Science in physiotherapy in 2011 at the University of Alberta. She is currently splitting her time between two LifeMark locations, working with a variety of clientele including national athletes, WCB, ICHC claims and the general public. She is currently completing her level two manual therapy and acupuncture course. In her spare time Candace has worked in a canine physiotherapy clinic where she embraces her love of dogs.
Joelle McCartie - RMT
Joelle studied massage therapy at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria B.C. and completed her comprehensive training in December of 2005. Since that time, she has been practising massage therapy full time in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.
Since graduating, Joelle has concentrated her continuing education on courses that strengthen her clinical practise which focuses on, but is not limited to, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Some of these courses include advanced deep tissue massage, myofascial release, pre- and post-event sports massage, soft tissue release technique, athletic taping, kinesio taping as well as cupping and scraping techniques.
On a daily basis Joelle treats a variety of clients in the clinic including the general public, recreational athletes and Canadian national athletes from a diverse number of sports. Joelle enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for health and well-being with the students at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria where she works as a clinical supervisor.
Away from work, Joelle pursues an active lifestyle. You can find her enjoying nature through trail running, mountain biking, road biking or lake swimming in the Victoria area.
Chelsy Low
Massage Therapist
Chelsy Low is a graduate of the 3,000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, BC.Since becoming registered in 2007, she has worked with a variety of patients in both clinical and spa environments.
She uses a range of therapeutic techniques including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release. She believes that an integral part of any therapeutic treatment is relaxation.
In her downtime, Chelsy enjoys playing soccer (go Castaways!), riding horses, reading and baking. She has also taken up running and completed her first half marathon in 2012.
Breanne Tennant
Physiotherapist
Breanne Tennant is a prairie girl from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.During her Undergrad at the University of Saskatchewan she volunteered at a long term care facility, working with the residents in the pool and art studio, which is where she developed an interest in Physiotherapy.
After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, Breanne took a year off to travel to Australia and then returned to Saskatchewan to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy degree.
During her Physiotherapy studies Breanne developed an interest in Women’s health and completed the Level 1 Pelvic Floor Re-Education Course. She plans to go on and complete all of the levels in order to further develop her specialization that area.
Breanne is passionate about empowering her patients in order to achieve their treatment goals and is excited to be in the beautiful city of Victoria and working with such a diverse team.
During her down time Breanne enjoys running, hiking, yoga, and baking!
